There’s been this beautiful uprising in the women-in-business world, and it seems to have happened so instinctively and naturally that no one is talking about it. But you know me, I rarely keep quiet, and when I’m excited about something, I start shouting about it from the rooftops. So what’s this shift? It’s the #girlgang or #squadgoals phenomenon – women who band together and collaborate instead of being for lack of a better term, a bunch of competitive catty bitches.

PB&J: the ultimate in #squadgoals

PB&J: the ultimate in #squadgoals

In my own network, this idea of collaboration over competition has been AMAZING for my business. By taking this approach, I have a weekly master mind of bad ass business babes who I can bounce ideas off of, support/be supported by, share accountability and develop a true sisterhood that goes beyond our individual businesses. I trust these women so implicitly, I can’t even begin to tell you how much their support has not only helped my business, but helped me serve you better. I’ve mentioned before that I do a lot of my networking in Facebook groups, and here I find incredible entrepreneurs of varied skills and talents, and these are the women I end up referring my clients to. It’s so nice to have a personal connection with people so you can really vouch for the person you’re hiring (or suggesting someone else to hire.) These same women are telling people about me too, so I’m not gonna lie: the benefits are reciprocal. But the thing is this: no one is meeting each other with the sole expectation of getting business. These are friendships and personal connections that happen to be with other entrepreneurs. And business aside, it’s so nice to have friends who really GET you and the journey you’re on, which is something the average 9-to-5er just can’t relate to.

I need to tell you about one woman in particular… she’s one of my business besties and we’ve started working on an exciting project together that I just can’t wait to share with you (even though we don’t launch until August!). Her name is Michelle Schroer, and she’s a fear-busting clarity coach who helps ladybosses strip through all the bullshit and get crystal clear about who they’re here to serve and what their mission is. She’s a badass, and hella nice to boot. We’ve co-created a 3-day workshop called Ignite! in Vegas that will be an intimate deep-dive into your brand so you can walk away with big, actionable results that will be a quick start to your new brand’s launch. We’re keeping it small – 12 peeps max – and it’ll be a LOT of work, but with BIG results. I can’t tell you how stoked I am. If you want to know more, sign up for our VIP list and you’ll be the first to hear about what’s coming.

Now, I should be clear… this isn’t like those formal networking organization. I’m talking about women, coming together organically, to support each other, cheer lead, and spread the news about each other’s awesomeness. It’s not stuffy, it comes from a beautiful, authentic, heart-centred place… and it feels GOOD. This is just another type of ick-free marketing, and it’s a really beautiful approach to business. They say it takes a village to raise a child… well, I’d venture so far as to say it takes a community to build a biz. And let’s be honest… it’s way more fun than doing it on your own.

How does community play a part in your business? Where do you meet potential people to collaborate with? Have you found this to be true in your business? Let’s start a conversation in the comments.

Big love,
